I have a dream – gender equality

By Iria

I have a dream…

That one day boys and girls will play football altogether at their school’s field.

And then they sit down and make the wreath of friendship.

That one day girls will behave the way people think boys should behave.

And boys will behave the way people think girls should behave

and altogether will behave like children.

I have a dream…

That one day in Pakistan where Malala is still remembered with dignity by anyone that understands her words,

Little girls will be able to go to the same school where little boys can go.

That they will be allowed to take off their scarfs

and use them to make a long rope and play tag of war together, like children.

I have a dream…

That one day women will not be forced the life of a mother,

A life that doesn’t let them work and make their own career.

That one day they will have the same time with man to take care of their children,

And the same time to take care of their career, as parents and workers.

I have a dream…

That one day in India little girls will take by their hand their mothers and lead them that their school, and at the same time boys will take by their hands their fathers and lead them at their school,

And there they will all join hands and sing the song of love and justice as people.

I have a dream…

That one day there will be philosophers like Aristotle and Plato that will discover incredible theories with their mind power,

But they will be women and men and they will be people.

I have a dream…

That one day in every country when a baby girl or a baby boy is born they won’t be raised as girls and boys but as children.

I have a dream…

That this day will come and that we won’t be woman or men, girls and boys but people.
